Karbi Lady ACS accuses army of raid in Diphu

DIPHU 23 Feb : A lady ACS officer under deputation to Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council has lodged a complaint to the Deputy Commissioner Karbi Anglong Thursday alleging that unknown persons attacked her residence at midnight with “bad intention”.

In her complaint the lady officer, Protima Rongpipi has criticized the police of not responding when she called Diphu police for help. She claimed that the police station was at walking distance from her residence.

Rongpipi said that, she was with her seven year old son in the room when some “Hindi speaking” in a “forceful voice” without identifying themselves banged at the doors.

Commenting on the incident SP Karbi Anglong, Anurag Agarwal said that, a detachment of Indian army belonging to 3-Jammu and Kashmir Rifles raided the house of Protima Rongpipi along with a Sub-inspector of Diphu police station, but the police did not had any information about the destination of the army.

He disclosed that the police have received an FIR forwarded by the D C Karbi Anglong for which a case will be registered in Diphu police station.

Based on the FIR, police swung into action but army authority could not be communicated for their comment.
