Haldar meets Diphu residents
Correspondent DIPHU, Dec 5 – People from various walks of life, including political parties, student organisations, women’s organisations, civil society and NGOs interacted with PC Haldar, interlocator of UPDS on his maiden visit to Diphu today. They submitted a memorandum to Haldar. The various organisations pleaded the newly appointed interlocator to bring about a speedy solution to the UPDS demand. Haldar visited Diphu with a view to collect first hand opinion and suggestions of various organisations on UPDS and the government peace talks. The UPDS is on a ceasefire agreement with the Government since August 2002. Since then it has completed eight rounds of talks with representatives of the State and Union Government, however without making much headway. The visit of Haldar has obviously elated the UPDS and its leaders have opined that it is a positive sign.
