Daolagupu lambasts State Govt for step-motherly attitude

( Assam Tribune, 23 Dec , 2009).

HAFLONG, Dec 22 – Lambasting the Assam Government for its step motherly attitude towards the NC Hills Autonomous Council, the Bharatiya Janata Party NC Hills District Committee has demanded a total stop of unconstitutional interference in council matter.

Kulendra Daolagupu, lone BJP member of the NCHAC said in a press meet held at the premises of NC Hills BJP that the step motherly treatment of theGovernment of Assam toward the people of NC Hills has instilled a feeling of alienation in the minds of the hills people and therefore separate state movement is getting momentum in this region. He also termed the treatment of theAssam Government as anti hill people, ant tribal, anti autonomous Council and anti-constitutional.

Meanwhile, Daolagupu sent a representation to the Principal Secretary to the Government of Assam, Hills Areas Department at Dispur, in Guwahati asking if Governor’s Rule is still continuing over NC Hills Autonomous Council after the midnight of December 11.

If the answer to the above question is yes, then is there any notification for extension of Governor’s Rule beyond December 11, he asked.

Is it false that the Council of Ministers of Assam had taken a resolution not to extend Governor’s Rule over NC Hills Autonomous Council beyond December 11.

Further he requested to treat his letter as extremely urgent as he intends to move the High Court against the aforesaid notice dated December 15, 2009 which intends to extend Governor’s Rule over the NC HillsAutonomous Council illegally and unconstitutionally.
