Peace activist beaten up brutally by KLNLF Cadres in Chowkiholla

Diphu, 15 Nov :  Peace activist Arwin Ronghang, Vice President of Chowkiholla local area committee of PAPA ( Peoples’ Alliance for Peace Accord) was brutally beaten up and tortured by the KLNLF Cadres on 14/11/2010.

According to the press release given by PAPA, it was asserted that PAPA activist, Ronghang was first summoned by a group of KLNLF cadres in PWD Inspection Bungalow. He was then blindfolded and tied before being beaten indiscriminately with a pole of Bamboo.

The KIN own source has added that presently, Ronghang is undergoing treatment at Diphu Civil Hospital, facilitate by the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Diphu Police Station himself.

During the same press conference at the Liaison Office of UPDS in Diphu, the UPDS Leaders said that the KADCC ( Karbi Anglong District Congress Committee) is creating impediments on the proposed peace accord and demands of the UPDS with the Central Government of India.

    Two family members of UPDS cadres One Arwin Ronghang elder brother of Sergent. Klirbon Ronghangpi and Binarson Ronghang elder brother of Corporal. Michel Ronghang both of Chokihola was assaulted badly and manhandle with Tied hands and legs on 14th. Nov by surrendered KLNLF cadres under the command of Sgt, Mukesh. The …two was summond to PWD inspection Bungalow of Chokihola reason best known to KLNLF.

    Two days back two UPDS cadres on leave was also assaulted at Hidipi bajar at night by surrendered KLNLF cadres of Hidipi command.

    UPDS maintain maximum restrain in the interest of peace and understanding.

    We can not call papa organisation a peace activist. Because, PAPA is working for only one particular organisation and they also involved in political activities. They had already organised many Political rally in Hamren sub-division. Therefore it would be better to call them as a New Political Organisation.
