3 Feb, 2011 JORHAT: Nine Karbi youths have been wounded when suspected Kuki Liberation Army (KLA) militants fired at them in Karbi Anglong district. Sources on Thursday said the rebels on Wednesday attacked a group of Karbi villagers at Mulsing in the Dilai area, leaving nine of them wounded.
“The villagers were working at their paddy fields at the time of the attack,” a source said.
“They were rushed to Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital in Golaghat on Wednesday night. However, all of them were on Thursday referred to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH),” a local said.
JMCH superintendent Beda Priya Das said, “They had sustained bullet wounds in their legs. However, their condition is now stable.”
