DI seeks bribe, employees alleged

DIPHU, Feb 22: At a time when Education Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and KAAC-EM Tuliram Ronghang have come up to resolve the long-standing problems of school-teachers and employees, a section of teachers and fourth grade employees of ME schools, in a meeting held at Bakalia Town Janta Hindi LP School on Sunday labeled a serious allegation on the Deputy Inspector (DI) for seeking bribes from teachers and employees. The employees have been paying three per cent on arrears, Rs 1,500 for service book and an amount for bonus to the Deputy Inspector, the employees alleged. The general meeting was organized by assistant teachers and fourth grade employees of the district ME schools which was graced by Suren Kramsa, president, KAMETA as chief guest. Gulap Baglary presided over the meeting and was attended by Sashanka Hazarika, advisor and hundreds of fourth grade and assistant teachers. In the meeting, the employees resolved to put their grievances to the concerned authorities demanding their payment in first week of every month, third service book, bonus for price hiking of essential commodities and others.
